Can opportunity cost be negative? If so in what situation will it be negative?

According to me Opportunity Cost cannot be negative because by definition Opportunity Cost means the benefits foregone to pursue the present alternative (decision).  Simply stated Opportunity Cost means the amount of benefit which would have been received if the second best alternative was pursued.  How can any benefit be negative?
