Let that amount be X.  20% of X will be X x 20/100.

Sum of both shall be equal to Rs.6000, so

X + X x 20/100 = 6000

X + X/5 = 6000

6X/5 = 6000

X = (6000 x 5)/6 = 5000

Verify: 5000 + (5000 x 20/100) = 6000
