Let that amount be X. 20% of X will be X x 20/100.
Sum of both shall be equal to Rs.6000, so
X + X x 20/100 = 6000
X + X/5 = 6000
6X/5 = 6000
X = (6000 x 5)/6 = 5000
Verify: 5000 + (5000 x 20/100) = 6000

can u tell plz from where does this 6 come from in 3rd line ???
It is just addition of fractions:
X/1 + X/5 , after taking LCM 5.
